Sixth Annual Nebraska-Western Iowa Symposium on Homelessness

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)-Omaha Field Office-and the U.S. Department of Veterans’ Affairs (VA) Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System are partnering to conduct the Sixth Annual Nebraska-Western Iowa Symposium on Homelessness on June 6-7, 2017 at UNO's Community Engagement Center in Omaha, NE.

Collaborative partners for the event include the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Nebraska/Western Iowa Continuums of Care, Nebraska Departments of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and Economic Development (DED), University of Nebraska Lincoln, Nebraska Investment Finance Authority, U.S. Bank, State and Regional Homeless Services Providers, Community Groups, Stakeholders, and several other federal, state and local agencies.

The two days symposium brings together homeless services professionals from across the region, who will conduct workshops and be joined by national speakers to discuss successful homeless program implementation and explore best practices through caring for and providing services to one of the nation’s most vulnerable sectors of the population-the homeless. Presenters will lead discussions on topics relevant to the current challenges in service delivery, grants management, and identification of technical solutions related to services and grants management.

The symposium also provides opportunities for local and regional public and nonprofit advocacy organizations to enhance partnerships, explore future collaboration and engage in networking. There is no cost to attend this outstanding event, and it is open to the public.
