2008 Supreme Court GAL Training

The Nebraska Supreme Court Rule Requiring Guardian Ad Litem Training for Attorneys requires that attorneys who are court appointed as a guardian ad litem for a juvenile in a proceeding brought under Neb. Rev. Stat. § 43-247(3)(a) of the Nebraska Juvenile Code shall have completed six (6) hours of specialized training provided by the Administrative Office of the Court. The requirement is effective January 1, 2008. This training will be offered in every Nebraska Judicial District according to the following schedule. Attorneys may register for and attend training in any judicial district.

This year's training will be conducted by the UNL Center on Children, Families, and the Law.

There will be a $35 materials fee that will be required when registering. Among other materials, participants will receive a copy of Child Welfare Law and Practice, (2005) Ventrell and Duquette, Eds., a $79.00 value.

Training schedule will be: 8:30 - 12:00 and 1:00 - 4:30 (with breaks). Lunch will be on your own. Addresses for each training location are as follows:
