CCFL’s Safe and Healthy Families Initiative (SAHFI), together with the Safe and Healthy Families Court, hosted the third annual community meeting and the presentation of the Bob Moyer Memorial Award for Excellence in Domestic Violence-Informed Practice.

The event was held at BraveBe Child Advocacy Center on February 5, 2026. The meeting opened with remarks from Judge Elise White, followed by reflections from the Honorable Chief Justice Jeffrey Funke, and a review of the Safe and Healthy Court data presented by Taileigh Sorenson.

Jamie Bahm, assistant project director at CCFL, spoke about SAHFI’s mission and work. She presented the Bob Moyer Memorial Award to Melanie Kirk from the Nebraska Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence. An Honorable Mention Award went to Bryce Marker of BraveBe.

The event brought together representatives from all three branches of government, the University of Nebraska, and many community partners. It ended with Tough Choices, an interactive domestic violence simulation designed to deepen understanding of the complex and often impossible decisions survivors face each day.
