The Center on Children, Families, and the Law (CCFL), in partnership with the Departments of Psychology and Political Science at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, is seeking CCFL’s next director.
Dr. Eve Brank has announced that her tenure will conclude on June 30, 2026, after ten years leading CCFL. The university has approved a national search, with Brank graciously agreeing to stay on until the position is filled.
Brank also serves the University of Nebraska-Lincoln as Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Education, an Aaron Douglas Professor of Psychology, co-director of the Faculty-led Inquiry into Reflective and Scholarly Teaching, and faculty advisor for Scientific Resources for the Law.
CCFL was founded in 1987 by Dr. Gary B. Melton to serve as a home for research and public service on child and family policy issues. The center started small, with three people working out of a tiny basement office, and steadily grew over the next three decades.
In 2016, CCFL welcomed Brank as director. Under her astute leadership, CCFL increased its number of grant-based projects and exponentially expanded its work helping the helpers. Director appointments occur every five years, and CCFL was thrilled when Brank was reappointed in 2021.
With deep appreciation, CCFL celebrates Brank’s extraordinary leadership and vision over the past decade. Her tireless service has shaped a legacy of excellence, and while saddened by her departure, the center looks forward to welcoming a new director to continue this good work.
As a nationally recognized interdisciplinary center within the College of Arts and Sciences, CCFL seeks a leader with demonstrated expertise in social policy, program development/administration, leadership development, evaluation research, and delivery of training/technical assistance.
