CCFL was pleased to join Boys Town National Research Hospital in hosting a Family Impact Seminar for Nebraska senators last week titled: The Impact of Social Media on Child Development
Presenters included:
- Dr. Ciera Kirkpatrick, an assistant professor of Advertising and Public Relations at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, presented on the impact of social media on mothers.
- Dr. Giorgia Picci, a research scientist from the Institute for Human Neuroscience at Boys Town National Research Hospital, presented on the impact of social media on child brain development.
- Molly Woodman, an outreach coordinator for The Kim Foundation - Advocating for Mental Health Services, presented on mental health awareness and suicide prevention.
- Dr. Adam Tyma, a professor from the School of Communication at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, presented on media literacy.
- CCFL's Associate Director Christine Henningsen was a co-author on the research brief the seminar highlighted.
