National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week Proclamation

CCFL’s Community Services Division was pleased to bring attention to the issues of hunger and homelessness with Governor Pillen as he presented the proclamation for National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, Nov. 17-23, 2024.

There are 267,000 Nebraskans facing food insecurity and more than 2,500 Nebraskans experiencing homelessness on any single night.

Jeff Chambers spoke on behalf of the Nebraska Commission on Housing and Homelessness and CCFL. “This month, let us reflect on our shared responsibility to support one another. All members of our Nebraska community—governments, nonprofits, businesses, and individuals alike—working together toward meaningful solutions. Whether through volunteering, advocacy, donations, or simply fostering a culture of empathy and understanding, we all can contribute to creating change.”
