Following law school in 2003, Christine served as a federal law clerk in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Iowa. She then worked for the Iowa Coalition Against Domestic Violence as a staff attorney and coordinator of a national resource center providing technical assistance and training for advocates representing immigrant survivors of domestic violence. She practiced law in Chicago, Illinois at the Lawyers Committee for Better Housing (LCBH) representing tenants in eviction cases and fair housing cases. At LCBH Christine also was led the Tenant Assistance Project hotline. A resource for tenants in the Chicagoland area and providing training to pro bono attorneys representing tenants in eviction court. Christine returned to Nebraska 2008 and worked as an assistant public defender in Douglas County primarily representing parents in child abuse and neglect cases and youth facing criminal, delinquency, and status offense charges. Christine joined the team at CCFL in 2013 as a staff attorney for the Court Improvement Project. She has served as project director for Nebraska Youth Advocates providing support, resources, policy initiatives, and training for attorneys specializing in youth defense. She currently serves as Associate Director of CCFL, is a member of the legal training team, and provides consultation for the Children's Justice Clinic.
