Shelly Johnson, BSW, is a Training Administrator at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Center on Children, Families, and the Law. Johnson has primarily worked with the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services Division of Children and Family Services training grant since 2000. In her 17 years as Administrator, she has ensured training contract compliance, oversight of coordination, curriculum development, delivery of material, appropriate evaluation, and logistics for both Pre-Service and In-service child welfare competency-based training. This training includes classroom, online, and a transfer of learning through a field training component. Training provides knowledge, skills and abilities to Child and Family Services Specialists, Supervisors and four federally recognized tribes in Nebraska, via classroom and distance learning. Johnson has over 35 years of professional experience in child welfare having served as a Case Manager, Field Training Specialist, and Training Coordinator, before being promoted to Training Administrator. Johnson brings a vast amount of knowledge and experience in child welfare policy, procedure and training delivery.
