Trauma-Capable Schools

In 2021, CCFL partnered on a three-year project with LPS to facilitate an accessible and sustainable Trauma-Capable Schools training program for all school personnel across the district. Since then, CCFL has developed and launched asynchronous and synchronous training that staff can access regardless of previous training or knowledge. This online training library includes foundational understanding, skill-building strategies, and practices, as well as large-scale system approaches. Training has expanded each year, culminating in 23 classes available to LPS's 6,000+ employees.

CCFL is pleased that this collaborative partnership enabled school personnel to address many students' trauma-related learning barriers with trauma-informed supports that empowered positive learning. This project drew to a close in 2024.

In 2025, CCFL was honored to receive a Women Investing in Nebraska (WIN) grant to expand the Building Trauma-Capable Schools initiative across the state. WIN's belief and partnership will empower CCFL to create sustainable, trauma-capable learning environments that will positively impact thousands of students and educators across Nebraska for years to come.
